Human anatomy sculpt study. Based on a real human skull's 3D scan, the objective of the study was to accurately sculpt a reproduction of a real human skull, from the largest volumes down to the smallest detail only by looking at the references.
The process is not that different from most sculpts when using reference pictures; start with a dynamesh and keep insisting on replicating the largest volumes as accurately as possible, working on higher density dynameshes until satisfied with the results. ZRmesh and project the detail from the dynamesh and then continue with the smaller details until completion.
The hardest part was probably achieving a correct asymmetry while keeping both sides symmetrically enough, the amount of adjustments necessary were quite mind-numbing.
Finally, the completed sculpt was polypainted by using several pictures from actual skulls.
The sculpting was supervised by Claudia Rivera from CICE
